This cereal was described on the box as "crunchy chocolate cereal with fun-shaped marshmallows". The cereal pieces resembled Chex cereal and the marshmallows came in the shapes of Batman's mask, Batman's famous bat-shield symbol, the bat car and a top hot ala The Penguin's hat.
I fucking loved this little gem of corn and high fructose corn syrup. If I remember correctly, it was a chocolate orgasm: chocolate covered Chex AND chocolate marshmallows. I may be mistaken, but there's no other cereal currently on the market with this combo.

I loved the Batman cereal as well. Wasn't there a version that wasn't chocolate? Maybe it was just "Batman" and not "Batman Returns"? Not sure.

To this day, I still try to recreate just how magnificent it was... Chocolate-y cereals are seldom this chocolate-y! And the fact that it was made for one of my favorite movies ever is just a happy coincidence.
ReplyDeleteI remember eating this cereal once and only once. I can remember a hint of chocolate but I guess the impression just wasnt as lasting to me as the others. The marshmallows were actually Penguins top hat, the Batmobile, the Bat-signal and Catwoman. There was not Batman mask.
